True Crime By May 16, 2024

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs resurfaced on social media with an inspirational quote. The post garnered further celebrity support, adding three more names to a list that already includes music producer Stevie J and journalist DJ Vlad. Combs is facing multiple allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking.

Combs took to Instagram to seemingly expressing confidence in his eventual exoneration from the ongoing sexual assault lawsuits. His post featured the quote “Time tells truth” accompanied by the caption “Love” along with black heart, dizzy, sparkles, and high voltage emojis .

The post has garnered over 100,000 likes since its publication. The embattled music mogul left the comments open and received support from some celebrity friends, including Busta Rhymes who commented with six crown emojis.

Combs also received words of support from Peter Thomas, ex-husband of model and reality star Cynthia Bailey. Thomas, like Combs, is facing a number of legal challenges, including a DUI charge from January and a court order to pay $9 million in back rent for closed restaurants. Despite his own legal troubles, the former star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta expressed unwavering support for Combs.

Combs’ faith in his legal team wasn’t universally shared, however. Some social media users pointed out the swift resolution of the lawsuit filed against him by Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura in November 2023. Notably, Combs settled the case within 24 hours of the filing.

Despite Combs’ extensive network in the entertainment industry, there’s been a noticeable lack of public support from his celebrity friends since the sexual assault and sex trafficking allegations surfaced. Long time friends like Ashton Kutcher, Usher, and Mariah Carey have kept their lips sealed. Naomi Campbell and Janet Jackson deleted all references to Combs from their social media. Even Ray J refused to comment.

While celebrity endorsements from Busta Rhymes, Peter Thomas, Deon Cole, DJ Vlad, and Stevie J show support for Diddy, it’s crucial to remember these are expressions of personal opinion, not validations of his alleged innocence.
